About Liverpool Hope University

Liverpool Hope University was founded in 1844 when the Church of England and Roman Catholic Sisters of Notre Dame developed separate colleges for women for teacher education. With 160 years of educational excellence to back its educational feats, the University is home to thousands of national and international students.

With successful placements of up to 97.3% within the first year of their graduation, Liverpool Hope University holds the distinction of being the most successful of the universities in the North West of England. It is this very distinction of Liverpool Hope University that attracts students from as many as 65 countries to pursue graduate and postgraduate studies in its campus.

Liverpool Hope University is an ecumenical university.

Liverpool Hope University Faculty

The Liverpool Hope University has three major faculties, namely, arts and humanities, education, and science and social sciences.

The faculty of arts and humanities at Liverpool Hope University offer a performing ground for Arts, Music, Design, Theatre Studies, Drama and Dance at its campus. At the postgraduate and undergraduate levels, students can explore their creativity in English, Media, History, theology, politics and religious studies.

The faculty of Science and Social Sciences include the Department of Computer Science, Liverpool Hope Business School and other subjects, such as Psychology, Sports, Sociology, Criminology, Geography and Health. Liverpool Hope University also offers MBA and Masters Programmes in Computer Science and Business Management, which are quite popular with the international student crowd.

The Education Faculty of Liverpool Hope University undertakes all training programmes for teachers, such as PGCE and BA QTS. A number of degrees leading to Masters, Early Childhood Studies, Education Studies, Disability Studies and other foundation courses and CPD courses are offered by the Education Faculty.

Administrative Wing

Liverpool Hope University has an administrative wing that is divided into groups for the smooth functioning and responsible handling of a wide range of problems associated with academics. The groups are Research and Academic Affairs, Resource Management and Planning, Student Support and Well Being, and External Relations and Widening Participation. Together they do a wonderful job to keep Liverpool Hope University a competent place to be in.

Research Facilities

Liverpool Hope University has state-of-the-art research capacities with its central library. The Sheppard-Worlock Library offers extended hours during peak time, including 24-hr services to its students, if necessary. The library is a wealth of information to the students, with abundant collections in different areas of higher education. In addition to these, there are publications, computer facility, research materials and stationery items. The library at Liverpool Hope University is also a place where one sees activities in the field of business and education.

Partnership and Radio Hope

Talking about partnerships, Liverpool Hope University has developed a research partnership with Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangzhou, China, whereby students can participate in an academic exchange programme for two years.

Liverpool Hope University proudly presents Radio Hope, its very own radio station from the studios at its Hope Park campus.
